On the Day Match Summary (31st May 2015)
The toss was won by the Scottish Pakistanis who elected to bat first and raced to a impressive total of 179 for 4 with Moneeb Iqbal not out on 55 , Safiyaan Sharif 51 and Qasim Sheikh 34 the main contributors with the bat. All three hit several sixes with a couple dispatched out of the ground entertaining the spectators who had braved the cold, wet , typically Scottish summer weather.
The Scottish Indians reply got off to a flyer with them well ahead in the power play overs but the loss of three wickets slowed the momentum down and they were always playing catch up.
Mohammed Ramzan the Scottish Pakistanis skipper rotated the bowlers and Amer Shehzad finished with figures of 3 for 21 with the Scottish Indians all out on 135 falling 44 runs short when skipper Ricky Bawa was last man out after not only being sledges by the fielders but also by the match commentator, Ricky rose to the challenge by managing a few lusty blows before holing out.
Man of the Match was Safiyaan Sharif who just edged Moneeb Iqbal as he took a brilliant diving catch running with his back to the ball on the boundary edge for the crucial second wicket in the power play overs to add to his quick fire 51.
